The Sounds of Quarantine - How To Record Yourself at Home (Webinar)

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

I had the pleasure of being able to do a webinar this past Tuesday providing some tips for creatives during these unusual times of being at home for an extended staycation. Check out the flyer and for those of you that missed it, the webinar itself also in the video below. Under the video will be a list of affiliate links to some of the products I mentioned during this webinar and others that may suit your needs depending on your experience level. Enjoy!

WEBINAR VIDEO

AFFILIATE LINKS TO PRODUCTS:

There is no "one size fits all" product when it comes to recording equipment. These products are listed as a suggestion but you have the ability to choose whatever you like and experiment. I've chosen Amazon links because generally you have the ability to get free shipping and sometimes free returns so you can try these products "risk free" and figure out what will work best for you. I'll provide multiple options in each category and I'll list bundles when they will give you the best bang for your buck. Read the reviews on the gear, make sure it will fit your needs, and then order it so you can get to recording!

USB MICROPHONES

CONDENSER MICROPHONES

AUDIO INTERFACES

HEADPHONES

STUDIO MONITORS

RECORDING SOFTWARE (DAWs)

If you have a mac, you have access to garageband free already. If you have a PC, there isn't a default recording software that comes with your hardware. The links below are to other DAWs...all listed are the free versions of the software so I'd suggest trying them out FIRST before making a decision to purchase one and seeing what you like best.

Pro Tools First (Mac & PC)

Magix Music Maker (PC Only)

Studio One 4 Prime (Mac & PC)

Ableton Live 10 Lite (Mac & PC)

And that's it! I hope that the webinar and the above links to products/software are helpful in you being able to improve the quality of your recordings at home. Feel free to share this post with your friends also!
